Having already stopped showing nudity on its website since August 2014, Playboy just announced that it will also stop showing nudes in its magazine.
Playboy was created at a time in history where personal and sexual freedoms were taboo. Today, we can see that society has taking great strides on these two aspects (and Playboy likes to think they played a role in that).
Its founder has also pointed to the dramatic increase of visitors on its website since they made the change: going from 4 to 16 million visitors per month. After seeing the success of their new vision, Playboy decided to focus mainly on humour, culture, sex (of course), nightlife, games and entertainment.
Only time will tell if Playboy's risk was worth taking, but by the looks of it, so far, so good!
